State Institute of Hotel Management, Dharamshala is an Autonomous Institute under Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Himachal Pradesh. The Institute is jointly sponsored by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Department of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Government of Himachal Pradesh.

SIHM, Dharamshala- Its foundation stone was laid by Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal Honourable Chief Minister (HP) in the presence of Shri Kishan Kapoor Honourable Minister for Industries, Labour & Employment , Sainik Welfare on 5th Feb. 2009. Subsequently it was inaugurated by Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal Honourable Chief Minister (HP) in the presence of Shri Kishan Kapoor Honourable Transport Minister on 19 th Aug 2012.
